Problems on Age

Note
1 First consider age  x which you have to calculate
2 If question says age after some (eg 8 year) , Then you add these some year.
3 If question says age ago some (eg 8 year) , Then you Minus these some year.
4 As per information create solve problem and find ans


Question 1
If my age after 8 years is  Five time of my age 4 year back. Find my present age
Ans
Let present age is x
age after 8 year is x+8
Age before 4 year is x-4
Given
x+8=5(x-4)
x+8=5x-20
4x=28
x=7

You can do it in short. No need to write all details



Question 2
The difference betwwen Rahul and seema,s age is 16 year. If 6 year ago Rahul is 3 times as old as seema, Find their ages?
Ans
 Let seema age is x
Rahul age is x+16
Note 3 Ago means we have to minus
3(x-6)=(x+16)-6
3x-18=x+10
x=14

Question 3
present age of A and B in ratio of 5:7,    If difference between B's present and A age after 6 year is 2. Find A and B age?
Ans
A:B=5:7
A=5x
B=7x
7x-(5x+6)=2
x=4
Now remember
A=5x=5*4=20
B=7x=7*4=28

Question 4
Meena is elder than sanita by 4 year. If ratio of their age is 9:7, How old meena is?
Ans
m=x+4
s=x
then
x+4/x=9/7
7x+28=9x
x=14
